  1. A very engaging and thought-provoking conversation! Ever since I first read about the “artisan author,” who writes for art’s sake for a select group of readers, I’m feeling validated in what I’m doing.

Guys, you have a definitive source that can answer these questions…

    Hey, Claude,
I’m hoping you can do some quick research regarding the following reader/writer question:
What is the trend, last 20 years, of the percentage of the population who reads?
    Same question for writers?
Are there insightful metrics you can find regarding thes questions as applies to indie writers?
If genre and markets, fiction, non-fiction add nuance please include those.

I know. Still, if you want data rather than speculation…

This was a fun podcast. Thanks. I agree with Lucinda, that we are leaving something behind and that comforts me. BTW, I love Lucinda’s entertaining newsletter and even was a winner of one of her books! I love the community of indie writers. They have given me so much support and encouragement and yes, sales. Every writer has readers in their lives, family, friends, co-workers etc. If they like your book, they will tell others!
